On July 17, 2023, our firm filed an application for authorization to institute a class action against Psycom. The purpose of this application is to obtain reimbursement of fees paid by Quebec consumers who registered for PRECOG Existence or PRECOG Expertise training for the year 2022-2023.
Our client’s story
Our client enrolled in the PRECOG Existence program offered by Psycom, after reading the ads published on Facebook to the effect that their courses were recognized by the Ministry of Education and that students would be able to benefit from a tax deduction.
However, when she filed her tax return, our client realized that she had never received the forms for tax purposes.
She contacted Psycom for these forms, but was told that they could not provide the forms for tax purposes for logistical reasons.
Subsequently, Psycom announced that they were unable to provide tuition tax slips.
Our client, like many other students, would not have contracted with Psycom if she had known that the training was neither recognized nor eligible for tax deductions.
