Defence of victims of road accidents
It is common for the SAAQ to pay lower amounts than you should be paid. In addition, it is not because you cash the SAAQ cheque that it prevents you from seeing the possibility of obtaining an additional amount. In some cases, personal help at home may also be possible if you need help with the various tasks of daily life.
Our firm will analyze your file and try to obtain the compensation to which you are entitled. We will advise and accompany you through all your steps, whether at the review stage at the SAAQ or before the Administrative Tribunal of Québec (TAQ).
Please note that our office is in Montreal, but we represent clients in other cities as well. For a complete list of cities, do not hesitate to contact us.

You may be entitled to several types of compensation:
- Compensation for bodily injury

Claim for compensation from the SAAQ
You have 3 years from the date of the accident to submit a claim for compensation to the SAAQ. If you disagree with an initial decision rendered by the SAAQ, you have 60 days to challenge that decision for review. If you still disagree with the auditor’s decision, you have 60 days to challenge the decision before the Administrative Tribunal of Québec (TAQ). While these timelines are important to meet, a decision may be challenged after the deadline, on medical or other grounds.
For more information on the various administrative and judicial steps, consult our page on the progress of a SAAQ file.
Your medical record and SAAQ
Following a road accident, it is essential to consult a doctor immediately, to be referred to specialists if necessary, and to follow the required treatments. It is also very important to document all the symptoms and injuries you have suffered as a result of the accident and to carry out regular medical follow-up.
Our firm regularly works with specialists and will guide you to experts who will make counter-expertise to refute the SAAQ’s evidence if necessary.
For more information, see our page on the importance of medical expertise.
If you have received an unfavourable decision from the SAAQ, contact us for a free initial consultation.
