Class actions settlement approved
Class Action regarding the 2020 Tremblant Events (as defined herein) (the ‘‘PICARD 1 Class Action’’)
AND
Class Action regarding registrations and payments made since July 25, 2017 by persons residing in Quebec to participate in events organized by IRONMAN CANADA INC. and WORLD TRIATHLON CORPORATION in Québec (the ‘‘PICARD 2 Class Action’’, collectively the “Class Actions”)
We are contacting you once again in accordance with a Quebec Superior Court judgment dated June 21, 2022 (File No: 500-06-001093-208 and 500-06-001119-219) which has approved the proposed transaction (the ‘‘Transaction’’) regarding two (2) class actions between Joanne PICARD (the “Plaintiff”) and IRONMAN CANADA INC. and WORLD TRIATHLON CORPORATION (‘‘Ironman and WTC’’).
The Class Actions have been authorized and the Transaction has been approved by the Court on June 21, 2022. This puts an end to the Class Actions.
We are pleased to inform you that it is now time to select your desired event option!
CLAIMS PROCESS REGARDING THE PICARD 2 CLASS ACTION
Ironman or WTC will automatically issue you one (1) Credit to be used to make a registration for an event organized by Ironman and WTC. The Credit of a value of CAD$ 5.98 is one-time use only, non-transferable, non-refundable, and non-cash convertible credit. Once issued, the Credit expires after twenty-four (24) months of its issuance.
The Credits will be applied directly to the account of each eligible PICARD 2 Group Member that was used for the registration for the events organized by Ironman and WTC.
How do I claim my compensation?
- 1. You must respond electronically to this notice no later than September 7, 2022 (the ‘‘Claims Deadline’’); and
- You must select one of these three (3) event options, namely:
(A) Canadian-based events organized by IRONMAN Canada Inc. (Canadian IRONMAN® & IRONMAN 70.3® series events); or
(B) US-based events organized by WTC (US IRONMAN® & IRONMAN 70.3® series events, etc.); or
(C) US-based events organized by Competitor Group Inc. (US Rock ‘n’ Roll® Running Series events).
If you do not submit your selection within the Claims Deadline, you will be deemed to have selected option (A), namely Canadian-based events organized by IRONMAN Canada Inc.
Where will my credit be deposited?
The credit will be deposited in the account with which you registered yourself for the IRONMAN® event or the Rock ’n’ Roll® Running Series event. This account is hosted by a third-party registration system provider, namely Active Network, LLC.
Are there any conditions to use my credit?
Your credit will expire after twenty-four (24) months from its issuance. If the credit has not been used upon its expiry, Ironman and WTC may take any measure to disable the credit or remove the credit from your account.
CLAIMS PROCESS REGARDING THE PICARD 1 CLASS ACTION
Ironman and WTC have already implemented a communications campaign between November 18 and December 14, 2020 through which email communications were sent to all registered athletes for the 2020 IRONMAN® 5i50™ triathlon, the 2020 Sprint Mont-Tremblant triathlon, the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3® Mont-Tremblant triathlon, and the 2020 IRONMAN® Mont-Tremblant triathlon (collectively, the ‘‘2020 Tremblant Events’’) that were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic to offer them various options including the option to obtain a refund. As a result, all PICARD 1 Group Members who selected the refund option should have already received a refund in 2021.
Ironman and WTC will honor any refund request made by an eligible member of the PICARD 1 Class Action who, for whatever reason, was eligible for a refund, requested a refund but did not obtain it.
How do I claim my refund?
All you must do is write to either monttremblant@ironman.com or montremblant70.3@ironman.com no later than September 7, 2022 and provide the following details:
- The 2020 Tremblant Event for which you were registered; and
- The email address you used to make your registration.
How long do I have to make a claim?
Act now! The Claims Deadline is September 7, 2022. No claims will be accepted, and no refund will be awarded for claims received after the Claims Deadline.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
You may no longer opt-out of the Class Actions or object to the Transaction. You are automatically included, and this is the only remedy and the only relief you now have in relation to the Class Actions.

Q: DO I GET A REFUND?
A: If you (1) had registered and paid to participate in one of the 2020 IRONMAN® events scheduled in Mont-Tremblant which were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) were eligible for a refund and (3) had requested a refund in the past but did not obtain it at the time of your request, you may claim a refund by writing to either monttremblant@ironman.com or montremblant70.3@ironman.com no later than September 7, 2022 and provide the following details:

- The email address you used to make your registration.
PICARD 2 CLASS MEMBERS
Q: CAN I RECEIVE A CREDIT?
A: If you (1) have registered and paid to participate in of the IRONMAN® or Rock ’n’ Roll® Running Series events organized by Ironman and WTC in Quebec and which took place or were scheduled to take place after July 25, 2017, and (2) were a resident of the Province of Quebec at the time of registration, you are eligible to receive one (1) Credit to be used to make a registration for an event organized by Ironman and WTC.
Q: HOW MUCH IS MY CREDIT?
A: Your Credit has a value of CAD $5.98.
Your Credit can be turned in for a single, one-time use only, non-transferable, non-refundable, and non-cash convertible credit-voucher to be used to register to an event organized by Ironman or WTC.
Q: WHAT RACE OPTIONS DO I HAVE TO USE MY CREDIT ON?
A: You may select one of these three (3) event options by responding electronically, no later than September 7, 2022, to the notice you received by email:
